Over 40 years of experience in a variety of industries and engineering functions. This has included mechanical and metallurgical engineering activities in military R&D, mechanical machinery manufacturing, chemical plant reliability and maintenance engineering, contract reseach in corrosion, pipeline corrosion modeling in Alaska, underground utilities engineering and, since 2004, in my present consulting business in Glen Allen. In the latter (and also in previous employments) I provide engineering expert witness services to attorneys in product liability and personal injury cases and consulting in materials engineering for industrial clients and property & casualty insurance clients. Licensed professional engineer (P.E.) in Virginia and Delaware.

Jerry is a native Virginian but he has lived and worked in California, New Jersey, Delaware, Ohio and Alaska in addition to Virginia. In his professional work he loves to uncover the fundamental physical cause(s) of various types of failures of metallic materials and products by a process know as root-cause failure analysis. He is particularly interested in failures caused by corrosion and in actions that will prevent reoccurrences. He is married to Aileen - for 40 years now - and they live in The Village in Innsbrook very nearby HBL's meeting site. He is a volunteer for the local Red Cross chapter, an active church member, a reader in several areas and lover of fly fishing.
